More than just IT stuff

Before the doors were opened to the public on Friday (28 June), swarms of people circled Funan, eager to be one of the first to see what is inside the sleek new mall. Over the close to three-year-long renovation, the space got a whole new makeover not just in design, but also in its branding identity. We used to visit Funan to get cheap new electronics and tech gadgets, but now, it's also a place for so much more: retail shopping, working out, feasting on yummy food, enjoying the latest entertainment, and even learning more about plants. On top of all that, Funan is a great showcase of new and rising local brands. Many of the stores and amenities are also enhanced by smart features, making them worth a visit even if you have been to their other outlets.

With so many offerings and crowds to push through, it's good to plan where to visit beforehand. To help you out with that, here is our list of places you should not miss at Funan:

4. The urban farm (Level 7)

Head up to Level 7, where you will be greeted by charming outdoor greenery. Funan’s unique urban farm is the first in a mall that’s fully open to public, and houses over 50 varieties of edible plants that guests can get up close to smell and touch. You can even get a taste of them at the Japanese farm-to-table restaurant Noka, located near the farm and right next to the elevators. (For more plant-based meals, check out Flavours by Saute, a vegetarian restaurant at Level B1.) With several swings and wide tables and benches, it’s also a wonderful space to hang out and just chill with your loved ones. Football enthusiasts can also play a game at the futsal court, which is fully unmanned.
