This year marks the National Day Parade’s return to the National Stadium after 10 years, and to celebrate this homecoming, the Esplanade will be raising its own three-day mini-parade.

Held from 7-9 Aug, the Spirit of the Parade festival will feature various band performances, interactive sculptures and the biggest outdoor bazaar ever held at the Esplanade. The entire event will span the entire outdoor bay area, from the Forecourt Garden to the Waterfront.

Here are some highlights of the festival that you can look forward to:

The Singing Chef – A Love Affair With National Day

When: 9 Aug, 4.30pm–5pm & 5.30pm–6pm
Where: Esplanade Concourse

This is no ordinary musical. Watch “Singing Chef” Irene Jansen and her quirky friends belt out beloved National Day songs as they cook up a storm with delicious local dishes like satay and mee goreng.

Joining her is a joyful bunch of familiar characters, from a vivacious line-dancing auntie to an over-zealous Resident’s Committee representative. Bring your appetite for food, tunes and laughter.
