Looking for ideas on how to get into the festive mood for Chinese New Year? From family carnivals to fortune-telling, there are a myriad of events popping up around town to give the Year of the Rooster a grand welcome.

Huayi Chinese Festival of Arts 2017

When: 3-12 Feb, various timings

Usher in the Year of the Fire Rooster with a rousing line-up of performances by outstanding artists from Singapore and beyond. The annual Huayi Festival features veterans Stan Lai, Anthony Wong, Yeo Yann Yann, Alvin Tan, Haresh Sharma and Yoga Lin, as well as next-generation artists like the artistic director of Cloud Gate 2, Cheng Tsung-lung.

There will also be themed workshops, such as intricate weaving and fan-making.
