2. Museum of Ice Cream Celebrates SG60 with Free Entry and Unlimited Scoops for Seniors

The Museum of Ice Cream is honouring Singapore’s golden generation this SG60 with a sweet and generous offer. All Singaporeans aged 60 and above enjoy 60% off general admission for August. 3. Sands for Singapore Charity Festival

As part of SG60’s “Year of Giving,” Marina Bay Sands deepens its support for the social service sector through its annual Sands for Singapore Charity Festival. This milestone edition features a renewed three-year pledge of S$750,000 to Community Chest — a commitment that unlocks government matching grants and extends the initiative’s impact even further.

Kicking off the celebration is the launch of The Sweet Collective — an exclusive charity dessert box filled with signature tarts from CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Maison Boulud, Origin + Bloom, and WAKUDA Singapore. Priced at S$45, every box sold directly supports vocational training programmes at the APSN Centre for Adults, empowering individuals with special needs to achieve greater independence and purpose through work.

4. Artist’s Proof: Singapore at 60

Families looking to bond over art and heritage will love Artist’s Proof: Singapore at 60 (AP60), an exhibition hosted by The Culture Story and open now through 17 August 2025. Featuring over 90 works by more than 50 artists from the private collection of TCS co-founder Mr Chong Huai Seng, AP60 captures the evolution of Singapore’s identity through vibrant, expressive works.

Designed with young visitors in mind, the Fresh Impressions programme transforms the exhibition into an interactive experience for children aged 6 to 12. From 13 July to 17 August 2025, a dedicated activity corner offers daily drop-in art experiences. On the weekends of 9–10 and 16- 17 August 2025, children can also participate in hands-on art workshops led by artists, exploring techniques like collage, wax-resist painting and sculpture building. These creative workshops encourage children to reimagine Singapore’s journey—and their place in its future.

7. Gardens by the Bay Celebrates SG60 with Dazzling Experiences

This August, Gardens by the Bay becomes the beating heart of Singapore’s 60th birthday celebrations, unveiling a line-up of signature events brimming with artistry and national pride. At the forefront is SPARK, an extraordinary biodegradable light installation by Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde, making its Southeast Asian debut at the Supertree Grove Lawn. This immersive spectacle is free from 31st July to 3rd August 2025. It features thousands of silent, floating sparks that reimagine fireworks, evoking the beauty of fireflies and stars—a poignant invitation for the nation to celebrate during this milestone SG60 year.

Simultaneously, inside the Flower Dome, the much-loved Orchid Extravaganza returns from 1st to 31st August 2025, transforming local heritage into living art. This year’s floral display is a tribute to Singapore’s enduring symbols, with Supertrees crafted from orchids, evocative references to Peranakan culture, and recreations of Lee Hock Moh’s renowned orchid paintings. Open daily with standard admission charges, the display is a proud botanical homage to both country and culture.

8. Marina Square x Play Nation’s First-Ever Kopi-Shop Pop-Up

Marina Square presents the Play Nation Kopi-Shop Pop-Up — a whimsical tribute to Singapore’s beloved “kopitiam” culture from 17 July to 18 August 2025.

In collaboration with local game-play and entertainment favourite Play Nation, this pop-up celebrates nostalgic local breakfasts with an adorable twist. Discover plush collectibles inspired by kopi, eggs, kaya toast and more — all served with a playful dose of Singapore pride.

9. National Museum Unveils Record-Breaking Bricks and Dazzling Lights for National Day

This July and August, the National Museum of Singapore ushers in the city’s largest National Day celebrations, weaving past, present, and future together through a rich tapestry of immersive, family-friendly experiences.

Running from 18 July to 9 August 2025, the centrepiece is the “Stories of Singapore: Building Our Heritage Brick by Brick” showcase, created in partnership with The LEGO Group, CDAC, and MJD Pro Group. Visitors will encounter a sprawling LEGO diorama of quintessentially Singaporean landmarks within this vibrantly interactive space. They can unleash their creativity in hands-on Make & Take sessions, digital colouring, and the collaborative completion of a record-breaking LEGO mural—making history figuratively and literally.

As dusk approaches, the museum’s facade is transformed by “Canvas of Light: Our Nation’s Journey,” an enlivening visual spectacle honouring Singapore’s journey with animated light art projected across the building. The festivities rise to a crescendo on 9 August 2025, when the museum opens all four floors for a full day of themed adventures inspired by the classic National Day song “We Are Singapore.” Audiences of every generation can participate in heritage hunts, crafting sessions, and, as evening falls, settle on the Front Lawn for a picnic under the stars and a live screening of the National Day Parade 2025.

With free admission to the showcase and the entire museum on National Day, this year’s programme promises a true celebration of resilience, community, and creativity at the heart of Singapore. 10. Science Centre Singapore’s STEM Fiesta

This National Day long weekend, Science Centre Singapore transforms into a wonderland of innovation and fun with the STEM Fiesta—a three-day celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday from 9 to 11 August 2025.

11. Changi Airport and Jewel Illuminate SG60 with Music, Blooms and a Spirit of Giving

Changi Airport Group and Jewel Changi Airport are set to mark Singapore’s diamond jubilee on a grand scale, unveiling “Together, We Make Magic”—a vibrant season of SG60 events from July to August 2025 that celebrates the nation’s identity and the community behind its extraordinary journey.

At the heart of the festivities is the SG60 Homecoming Concert on 1 August 2025 at Jewel, where headline acts Stefanie Sun, Kit Chan, Sezairi, and more will serenade audiences with cherished national hits amidst Jewel’s lush Forest Valley. From interactive art installations and workshops to lively music festivals and standout performances, the festival promises residents of all ages a chance to co-create, celebrate, and connect through art.

This year’s highlight is the Giant Delight SG60 Edition, debuting as part of the National Day Heartland Celebrations on 10 August 2025 before touring various estates. These large-scale, resident-built installations—featuring wooden and acrylic structures like hexagons, octagons, and prism towers—pay tribute to community heritage, from the Kebun Baru Giant Birdcage filled with handcrafted birds to playful nods to heritage landmarks such as the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground, Peranakan Houses in Marine Parade, and the iconic Bukit Timah Railway Bridge. Under the artistic direction of celebrated festival director Sam Lo, PAssionArts 2025 places community stories at the fore, transforming cherished local memories into shared national art.

16. UOL Malls’ Green Movement With U

This July, UOL Malls’ much-anticipated ‘Green Movement With U’ returns with its most imaginative edition yet, transforming KINEX, United Square, and Velocity@Novena Square into vibrant hubs for eco-creativity and community spirit from 18 July to 17 August 2025.

Celebrating Singapore’s 60th birthday, the annual campaign spotlights the theme “Rediscover. Reuse. Reimagine Singapore,” blending playful nostalgia with an innovative approach to sustainability and local heritage. A highlight for families and eco-warriors alike, the experience invites visitors to explore the SG60 Green Playground—a robust, large-scale installation crafted entirely from recycled cardboard. It features life-sized games and iconic local symbols, from a Snakes and Ladders trail of national milestones to replicas of favourite playgrounds.

At the heart of the campaign, the Merlion Re: Stitched installation stands as a powerful symbol of collective memory and creativity. Created in partnership with Circular Classroom, this 2.5-metre sculpture is fashioned from donated pre-loved school uniforms, and visitors are invited to add their piece of fabric, making every “scale” a personal contribution to Singapore’s evolving story. Hands-on weekends unite the community for frame-making and paracord craft workshops (with minimum spending at KINEX or United Square). At the same time, Eco Fairs across all three malls offer planet-friendly finds from local vendors.
