2016 left us with tearful goodbyes to many local childhood spaces and estates, such as the Fish & Co Glasshouse, Rochor Centre and Dakota Crescent.
But it's a new year, a new day and a new life for these other places in Singapore, which are either getting a rejuvenated makeover or seeing entirely new facilities opening up.

2. Duo Galleria
Duo is a mixed-development property that comprises a private residence, five-star hotel and a retail gallery called Duo Galleria. Directly connected underground to the Bugis MRT Station, the street-level Galleria will have boutiques stores, lifestyle shops and dining options, as well as an outdoor event space set in lush greenery.
It is scheduled to be completed this year.
