Newly opened at the Quayside Isle in Sentosa Cove, Museo serves up fusion food with an artistic twist

Quayside Isle may be a bit of a hassle to get to for those who do not drive but why not head there to escape the throng of crowds over the weekend? You can even take a nice stroll down the jetty once you’re done stuffing yourself at the restaurants there.
So far, restaurants such as Picotin, Brussel Sprouts and Ezoca have joined in the fray alongside the boats. Museo, located a floor above Picotin, is a cosy place to chill out over the weekend. Museo – pronounced mu-zay-oh – is Italian for museum, and they
try to showcase each course as an art piece.
The fusion menu serves dishes such as the Mezzanine Signature ($38 or $39) with a set of four small bites pre-selected or customised according to your taste. We tried the customised set comprising, the Joys of Life – roasted pork belly with hot sauce, Smile of Mona Lisa – deep-fried camembert, Flaming June – salmon curry, and the Three Musicians – soft shell crabs with tomato-chilli sauce.
The deep-fried camembert came with a shot glass of cranberry sauce which complemented each other perfectly. This is great as a bar snack should you just be hankering for a bite. The pork belly was smoky and crispy. It was certainly a decadent selection
to share as well.
The entrees boasted dishes such as Sliced Beef with Mushroom “Zurich-style” with pan-roasted rosti potato ($28). We were slightly disappointed by this one as the sauce was too thick, resulting in us feeling a bit sick, and the potato was a tad too dry. Perhaps it had been sitting around for a bit.
The signature Two-Way Lamb ($35), a marinated lamb rack served with sautéed arugula and cherry tomato chutney, fared much better. The shepherd’s pie side was also a unique twist to French fries or baked potato.
Museo also carries sister restaurant Arteastiq’s range of teas, sold in a pot, as well as a full bar filled with signature cocktails. We especially liked the Autumn Sweater ($20) – Nikka whiskey, maple and apricot syrup and fresh lemon juice. The drink even comes with a spherical ice cube within. Try their Cucumber Mojito ($16) for a cooling and refreshing drink as well.
Finish your meal with one of their desserts such as the Green Tea Crème Brulee ($12) or the Vodka Chocolate Lava Cake ($12), both of which come with a side of gelato of your choice. The Vodka Chocolate Lava Cake carries only a hint of vodka but the warm chocolate that oozes out upon prodding was heaven when paired with the Champagne Vanilla gelato.
Museo also has weekend beer retreat buffets ($68) which includes the hi-tea buffet and a free flow of beer from 1.30pm to 5pm.
