Get into a feel-good mood with Malaysian celebrity chef Sherson Lian and his mother, Ann, as they dish out loved home-cooked food with a modern twist. Asian Food Channel (AFC) brings back its popular series, “Family Kitchen with Sherson”, for the third season running.
A twist on tradition
Watch as Ann whips up familiar and nostalgic dishes, while Sherson adds unexpected contemporary flavours and touches. The eight-episode extravaganza features authentic homemade goodness amidst heart-warming and fun interactions between the loveable mother-son duo.
Unique and mouth-watering dishes that viewers can look forward to include Steam Basil Chicken, which uses a clay pot to help trap the flavours of the basil; Thai Spicy Sour Shrimp Curry and Indo Style Braised-Grilled Chicken, which is cooked in two ways: First braised and then finished on the grill for a layer of crispy smokiness.

Chemistry in the kitchen
Since the premiere of “Family Kitchen with Sherson” in 2015, the mother and son duo have made a name for their impeccable chemistry in the kitchen and on screen.
Speaking about his passion for the pairing, Sherson shares, “Cooking is about inspiration, taste and flavours. My mother was the one who encouraged me to pursue a career in food and her passion continues to inspire me. Although our cooking styles vary, working side-by-side has been an amazing experience and brought us closer together as a family.”
What does he hope audiences will receive from watching his series? Sherson says, “We hope through the series we inspire and encourage families to bond through their love for food. Those who cook together, stay together!”
