Restaurant Review: Say Hello To Affordable French Cuisine at SAYBONS

The restaurant is handing out soup shots in lieu of its 10th anniversary

If you frequent Plaza Singapura, you might have noticed a modest soup and crepe kiosk at the basement leading up from the MRT. First launched in 2007, SAYBONS has come a long way (well, 10 years to be exact) in its quest to bring affordable and accessible French food to Singapore.

To celebrate its decade-long success, the French dining kiosk has not only updated its menu to include more savouries of soups, risottos and galettes, but also a slew of delectables from the 'SAYBONS 10th Anniversary Specials'.

We recently visited the 30-seater outlet located at Plaza Singapura, and here are 3 dishes that left us wanting more:

3. 10 Years in Shots ($10)

As part of the tenth-anniversary celebration, owner and Executive Chef Daphane Loke came up with this brilliant idea of soup shots to pay tribute to the myriad of soups served at SAYBONS over the last ten years. Spoilt for choices? Not anymore, as this 10 Years in Shots lets you sample the best SAYBONS soups from the past decade, such as the Watercress Chicken, Carrot Coriander, Golden Pumpkin, Seafood Bisque, and Broccoli Cheddar. The shots are arranged from 1 to 10, with 1 being the lightest and 10 being the strongest. We recommend you drink your way down in sequence to prevent the stronger flavours overpowering the lighter ones.
