Mid-Autumn Festival isn’t just about gazing at the moon — it’s also about celebrating togetherness with mooncakes that surprise, comfort, and delight.
This year, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite creations that bring a fresh spin on tradition while keeping the festival’s heart alive.

1. Cedric Grolet Traditional Baked Mooncakes
Cedric Grolet, often called the world’s best pastry chef, is celebrated for his hyper-realistic fruit and flower creations. His Singapore patisserie brings the same finesse to mooncakes, crafting confections that look as stunning as they taste.
This year’s seasonal collection is helmed by executive chef Diego Jesus Alonso, who reimagines the mooncake as a meeting of cultures: French pastry artistry and Chinese tradition.
Instead of using lotus paste alone, these baked mooncakes incorporate nougatine for crunch and a French flair. Flavours include Vanilla and pecan (inspired by Grolet’s iconic Vanilla Flower dessert), Pumpkin Seed (symbolising abundance), Peanut, and Chocolate and orange with candied azuki paste.
For those who want something different, five delicate chocolate mooncakes return:
– Pistachio (four textures: ganache, gel, sponge, crisp)
– Raspberry with vanilla and shortbread
– Coconut for light creaminess
– Peanut & Banana for salty-sweet harmony
– Pecan & Vanilla for layered nuttiness
The traditional baked mooncakes are available in a set of four at S$108 and are exclusively at Cedric Grolet Singapore. Complimentary delivery to a single location is available for orders above $1,000 nett.

3. Mr. Bucket’s Harvest Moon Collection
Local chocolate brand Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie is loved for its playful, small-batch creations and bean-to-bar approach. This Mid-Autumn, they’re bringing back their Harvest Moon Collection, which feels modern and rooted in Asian sensibilities.
Flavour Highlights:
– Honey Osmanthus: delicate florals with golden honey notes.
– Pistachio & Orange: a nutty-citrus pairing that’s refreshing and bright.
– Kinako Mochi: roasted soybean powder with chewy mochi textures, a nod to Japanese flavours.
– Chrysanthemum Pomelo: lightly bitter-sweet with floral zest.
Available in a Set of 4 (S$68)—one of each flavour, perfect for gifting small—and a Set of 8 (S$98)—double the joy with two of each.
