You can also witness the baking magic at the cafe’s open kitchen
It seems like only yesterday when the nation was holding its breath in anticipation for Pablo to set up shop in Singapore territory.
Hailing from Osaka with 38 outlets across Japan, the cheese tart cafe has finally opened its first outlet in Singapore, simultaneously reviving the cheese tart craze that seemed to have ebbed away. Aside from the 78-seater full service cafe, an open kitchen is located at the side for customers to watch how these cheesy bakes are made.
Unlike its cheese tart competitors, Pablo entices with a slew of interesting creations that effectively reels in the fanfare. Some include the Freshly Baked Matcha Cheese Tart with Shiratama & Azuki ($18), and the Pablo twist (+$3.50), where iced drinks are presented with a swirl of cheesy soft serve.
For the classics, we had pleasure of trying the Freshly Baked Cheese Tart ($9.50, which comes with a drink) and Pablo Mini ($3.50). Topped with a tangy apricot glaze, the latter was light, airy and fluffy as promised, but it did not embody the velvet-like cheesy richness like the Pablo Mini. And for those who love a hard, buttery crust, the Pablo mini will make a more satisfying choice.
An assortment of boxed confections is also offered at the cafe, such as Cheese Millefeuille ($18), Sabrel Cheese Black ($15) and Pablo Choco crunch ($20).
Here are some other menu items to look forward to:
