In Singapore, Halloween seems to be more of a holiday for adults than for kids. We round up some of the Halloween specials for you

The trick or treating culture for children seems to be mainly an American tradition. In Singapore, Halloween seems to be an excuse for adults to dress up and to take as many pictures as possible, and to post it on social media for all to see.

Nevertheless, we round up some of the Halloween specials around town to make your ghoulish fun much easier, and to get some grub that’s not too ghastly too.

Quayside Fish Bar & Bistro

On Thursday, Oct 31, Halloween comes to Quayside Isle with Quayside Fish Bar & Bistro’s “Scary Halloween”. They’ve come up with Intoxicating Potions such as a Bloody Brain Shot ($10), Death Within ($18) and Dark Hell’oween ($18).

There is also a free flow of “brain booze” for your indulgence.

Caffé B

Have a bloodcurdling Halloween at Caffé B from Oct 15 to 31 with its three scary cocktails prepared by the in-house mixologist. Be on your guard with the Devil’s Eyeball, Black Swan and Skeleton Brain.

Flavours range from the floral to fruity, to the sweet and milky. The Halloween cocktails are $12 each.

Au Chocolat

For a ‘bloody’ full meal, try the Halloween set meal at Au Chocolat. It comprises a Bloody Mary soup, and a Spooky Eyeball salad for appetiser.

The mains will not disappoint with Adam’s Rib Cage – roasted pork ribs with Cajun spiced fries and “tomb-slaw” and the Scary Autopsy – chicken cordon bleu with cream cheese potato mash.

Finally, for dessert, Hooky Last Blood – beignets with strawberry gelato and raspberry coulis and “last blood”. Comes in a two-course ($39) or three-course ($46) set.

Cold Storage

Should you be holding your own house party this Halloween, sweeten it up with these candies from Cold Storage such as the Palmer Caramel Creeper Peepers ($5.95) – wrapped in eyeball-printed foil and The Foreign Candy Blood Drips ($3.95) – strawberry liquid candy – to add to that spooky vibe.

Just in case you live in the area where trick or treaters knock, you’ll have candy ready for the young ones as well.
