Are you sick of the same old places? Always siam-ing the question when your friends ask about lunch spots? Believe me, you need this
I am incredibly easy to please. My cravings go from a simple McDonald’s breakfast to, at best, an exotic Indian meal. But I have since realized that my annoying friends are not the same. I cannot suggest McDonald’s to them as a viable meal option without feeling their death stares burning through my spine.
Which is why this is here to help: I have mapped out all the new restaurants/ new menus in Singapore for the month of October onto this nifty map. Your lunch and dinner plans for this month and the next are all right here!
Let’s dive in.
Restaurant: D’bell
Location: 43 North Canal Rd, 059299
Nearest MRT Station: Clarke Quay MRT
I am very cautious when trying new food – believe me when I say D’bell has impressed me to my core. Right now I am dreaming about their chicken curry and wondering why I am here compiling this when I could be there stuffing my face.

Restaurant: Nickeldime
Location: 273 Thomson Road, #01-06, 307644
Nearest MRT Station: Toa Payoh MRT
Nickeldime is one of those restaurants that demand attention upon sight. Their Broadway-style decor lured me in and food sealed the deal. I am not a fan of beers, but I know my friends (with a drinking problem) would make this place their new hangout in a heartbeat.

Restaurant: Ricciottino
Location: 1 Vista Exchange Green #01-33 & #01-K2, The Star Vista, 138617
Nearest MRT Station: Bunoa Vista MRT
One of the many wonders of Ricciottino that ceaselessly amazes me is how late they open till. I had a craving for their linguine at 10pm and a speedy ride later, their staff at Riverwalk’s branch obliged me happily at 10.35pm to make their star Linguine Al Granchio (pictured above) for me. Ricciottino makes a hungry girl’s life beautiful.

Restaurant: Smor
Location: One Raffles Place, #B1-23, 048616
Nearest MRT Station: Raffles Place MRT
Smor is more of a bistro than a restaurant, but it had to be on the list. I live and breathe smoked salmon so it is no surprise I found myself in this quaint place looking for my fix. They are incredibly generous with their salmon and shrimp so if you have a mini seafood craving, you know where to go!

Restaurant: Caffe B
Location: 2 Bayfront Avenue, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands #B1-15 & 01-83, 018972
Nearest MRT Station: Bayfront MRT
Caffe B isn’t a new restaurant, but their new menu is one that promises not to stab your wallet where it hurts. I tried their pasta (pictured above) and it reminded me of upgraded chee chong fun. Strange as it is, I really do find myself missing that quirky dish.

Restaurant: Tsenguun Mongolian & Korean Cuisine
Location: 184 Joo Chiat Road, 427455
Nearest MRT Station: Eunos MRT
“Mongolian food should be served by shirtless, singing Mongols,” I insisted to the poor waitress who gave me an awkward half-smile. Nonetheless, this post made my Instagram exotic for a day. How often can you caption Mongolian lyrics for any photo?

Restaurant: SYNC Korean Fusion Bistro
Location: Westgate Mall, Level 3 of Samsung store, 608532
Nearest MRT Station: Jurong East MRT
West-siders rejoice, we finally have a cool new restaurant! Sync boosts of cozy sofa and a kids’ corner – leave your kids entertained here as you indulge in Korean courses and confectioneries. I like their matcha lava cake (pictured above) but not so much their main courses.

Restaurant: Whole & Hearty
Location: 12 Gopeng Street, #01-84, 078877
Nearest MRT Station: Marina Bay MRT
Breakfast sounds much cooler with Whole & Hearty. I am not a fan of yoghurt and breakfast bars like these often drop out of my radar. The only reason they are here is because of their insanely creative toppings. You got to try their freeze dry yoghurt toppings!

Restaurant: Crab in da Bag
Location: 902 East Coast Parkway, Big Splash Block D #01-25, 449874
Nearest MRT Station: Mountbatten MRT
I am not an expert on crabs – it is too much work for too little meat. But you East-siders need a new food spot! Crab in da bag are most famous for their shrimps (I’m kidding) crabs and being so near to the coast, I can guarantee you they are fresher than the prince of bel-air.

Restaurant: Momiji Shabu Shabu
Location: Balestier Shaw Plaza #04-01, 329783

Nearest MRT Station: Novena MRT
Momiji Shabu Shabu has one key selling point – their collagen hotpot. Being the key word being thrown about in the beauty industry these days, it is no wonder the word has spread to the foodie world. But surprisingly, it went very well with the ingredients offered.

There you have it, all your lunch gatherings and dinner dates planned for the month of October to November. I realized I have neglected some parts of Singapore in my food maniac adventures so don’t worry North-siders, I will scour the place next month!
