Know nuts about wine? Conquer your lack of knowledge with a unique flavour profile system and dine like royalty

If you love a good bottle of wine to go with excellent food, you’ll love Napoleon Food & Wine Bar.
Every single bottle of wine here is categorised in a special machine according to flavour profiles, making it as easy as shopping for clothes.
The Enomatic Wine Dispenser machine has descriptions such as “smooth”, “fruity”, “spicy” or “sweet”. This is much easier to understand than regular wine menus which go by grapes and region.
Apart from their array of wines, Napoleon also serves some great grub. The three-course set lunch is a good deal at $32 with several choices of appetisers, mains and desserts to choose from. Drinks are also included within the set lunch.
For smaller eaters, a two-course set meal is also available.
We loved the Poached Salmon. The tender and fresh salmon sat atop a pea puree and a white wine sauce, accompanied with mushrooms and tomatoes.
The beef tenderloin had a hint of spice to it, with very creamy and buttery pureed potatoes. Thumbs up for this.
The desserts on offer were also excellent. Try the Lemon Tart – the crust goes all around the tart, protecting the gooey lemon curd filling within. Mmm…
We also tried the profiteroles. The dark chocolate-coated choux pastry was sweet but not cloying.
Outside of the lunch set, we also loved the Lamb Shank Parma Tier ($22), a shredded and juicy lamb shank with a bed of pureed potatoes on the top. It is almost like a shepherd’s pie, but much better.
Cocktails such as the crème de menthe Grasshopper and red wine-based drinks are also available.
Napoleon opened recently, in June.
