Some brands offer the popular pork jerky snack in unique flavours (pineapple bak kwa, anyone?), while some use special imported ingredients. There are also the fan-favourite brands, such as Bee Cheng Hiang and Lim Chee Guan, that have been running in Singapore for decades, those that we always return to every Chinese New Year for bak kwa we know will not disappoint us.

4. New Eastern Kim Tee
Established more than 40 years ago, New Eastern Kim Tee continues their promise of making all their minced pork jerky by hand. Fresh and tender, their bak kwa attracts pretty long queues especially during the weekends, and often get sold out quick. You can choose from their signature minced pork ($31.20 for 600g, $52/kg), the more chewy sliced version ($28 for 500g, $56/kg), gold coin bak kwa to enjoy on the go, and even the chilli bak kwa ($32.40/600g, $54/kg) for an extra kick! Do note that prices will increase every week leading up to Chinese New Year.
