If Chinese cuisine brings to mind the usual suspects like roasts and dim sum, you're not wrong.

But here at Song Garden, there's more than meets the eye.

In the words of Senior Manager Alson Ho, “Nothing placed on the plate cannot be devoured.”

From the astute presentation to the garnishing, the dishes are no doubt creative and flavourful — a modern spin on classic Cantonese dishes.

Situated at the recently launched Mercure Singapore Bugis, the 120-seater contemporary Cantonese restaurant lets guests dine among traditional Chinese furniture and beautiful art pieces.

2. Steamed Cheong-fun with Fresh Prawn, $6

This isn’t your usual cheong fun. Song Garden uses delicate paper-thin rice sheets made in-house daily; sprinkling the steam sheets with a light flour crisp before another roll, filled with prawns, is laid on this and then rolled together. What you get is a medley of fresh and succulent prawns, layered with crispy bits.
