Pardon us as we go against the proverb of judging a book by its cover when mooncakes are involved. Likening to precious gems in treasure troves, the presentation of mooncakes is something not to be taken lightly of when the Mid-Autumn festivities come around. From the intricate etchings on their snow-skin facades to the elaborate vessels that host them, these mooncakes have commanded our attention with their gorgeous appearances alone.

4. Concorde Hotel Singapore’s mooncake set (from $65 for a set of four)
Concorde Hotel Singapore has certainly caught our attention with its quartet of adorable macaron-coloured mooncake boxes. But the kicker is the silver rabbit knobs that glitter on top of each lid. After partaking in the hotel’s halal-certified mooncakes of low-sugar matcha bamboo charcoal skin with goji and black sesame and pandan-infused golden jade Lotus single yolk, just to name a few, you can then repurpose the boxes to become little jewellery chassis to store your trinkets and loose change.
