We love our spicy foods. From chilli crabs to fiery stews and even Szechuan mala (literally translating to numbingly spicy) hot pots, we’re game to try them all.

Here are five restaurants that have made a name for themselves thanks to their signature fiery dishes.

Question is, can you handle the heat?

Must-Try: Spicy Chilli Pomelo Crab

Tired of being disappointed by chilli crabs doused in ketchup-flavoured sauce? Consider heading to Blue Lotus for the real deal, spicy kick and all.

Their signature Spicy Chilli Pomelo Crab ($7.80 per 100g) consists of a whole Sri Lankan Crab cooked with a special blend of chopped herbs and aromatic spices such as curry leaves and lemongrass.

Fresh, juicy pomelo is added before serving, to counter the satisfying heat of the dish.

To complement this dish, we recommend ordering others like the Wok Fried Prata Seafood Char Kway Teow and the Josper Grilled Barramundi Fillet with Pickled Chilli Sauce.

The former features fried and fluffy strips of prata, which goes surprisingly well with the rest of the stir-fried components.
