It is always heartening to see local entities banding together to produce something 100% Singaporean. And The Summerhouse reflects this very ethos by reaching out to farms from across the nation to offer its Farmers’ Yusheng for Lunar New Year, available from 16 February to 3 March. Harvested from local farms, a medley of greens makes up this customary dish, featuring pickled beetroot, fermented carrots, and butterhead lettuce are from Oh Chin Huat Farm, and even suspects of blue pea flowers handpicked from The Summerhouse’s edible garden. The local pride still blazes on with the accompanying sea bass fished from the kelong of Seafood Culture. The edible garden for a yu sheng is served with passionfruit and earl grey hollandaise sauce to sweeten the new year.
