Olivia Ong has been named FANCL’s new spokesperson. We speak to this beautiful songbird to find out the latest
Singaporean songbird Olivia Ong has done us proud since her first debut album Girl Meets Bossa Nova.
Her ethereal voice has also been heard in the theme song for the hit TV series, “The Little Nonya”. We managed to chat with her about her new role as spokesperson for beauty brand FANCL, and the latest in her life.
How do you like your new role as FANCL’s spokesperson?
I’m very happy and definitely very flattered to be chosen as FANCL’S spokesperson! I love that FANCL’S philosophy is about being preservative-free in all their skincare beauty products, which means being free of any harsh chemicals. (For me that is very important!)
Your career has taken off in Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, etc. Do you ever look back and marvel?
Marvel? Haha, I don’t think so. But my favourite part about this career is that I get to travel, and to perform to different live audiences; I love singing, and it is a blessing to be able to sing to people as my job.
Looking back, I’m very appreciative of the opportunities that I’ve been given, and I hope to continue to learn and grow further down this career path.
Do you have any upcoming plans?
It is going to be a very full month! [Olivia was in town for the FANCL event on Nov 9].
I will be going to Japan, representing Singapore, at the ASEAN Music Fair. And, thereafter, to Bangkok, Thailand to perform at the Bangkok Jazz Festival!
Do you prefer acting or singing?
Right now, I would say, singing. I just love how singing engages my entire body, mind and soul. I guess I haven’t experienced that in acting yet but I would love to explore that area more in the future.
Tell us something about yourself that most people do not know.
At times, I can be a bottomless pit of food-devouring. I sometimes even surprise myself at how much I am able to eat in one sitting!
What would you like to say to your fans?
I just want to simply say, thank you for the support! They put a smile on my face. 😀
