Languid afternoons call for a glass of sangria or two, soft breeze and sparkling waters.
But if being whisked away to the sandy shores of Maldives isn’t quite possible, your most convenient escapade is a coastal retreat at Tanjong Beach Club (TBC).
Since its inception in 2010, the restaurant, bar and club has entertained the likes of bikini-clad beach-goers, happy families, canine lovers and more.
The new dishes feature fresh ingredients and bright flavours that offer a touch of the Mediterranean.
First ever menu refresh
In the spirit of summer, TBC welcomes its first ever menu refresh. Before you scurry off to pack your beach essentials, be sure to add our recommended eats to your checklist.
A refreshing change from the Western-centric bar bites of the old menu, the new dishes feature fresh ingredients and bright flavours that offer a touch of the Mediterranean.
Hunger pangs will be satisfied by filling mains like the Lobster Bun.
Bright, mediterranean flavours
For starters, you won’t go wrong with the Snapper Ceviche ($23). Fresh snapper is tossed with lime and creamy avocado, and served with a side of crispy tortilla chips. Altogether, a great sharing dish bursting with zesty flavours.
Since barbecues and beaches go hand-in-hand, go ahead and order the Barbecued Octopus Salad ($23). The hearty salad comes with slices of nicely charred tentacle, mixed with greens like baby spinach, crunchy quinoa and juicy pomegranate.
Hunger pangs will be satisfied by filling mains like the Lobster Bun ($38), which features toasted burger buns and hunky portions of lobster flesh, dressed with lime mayonnaise and avocado.
The fruity Acai Bowl comes with organic acai berries, bananas and apricot.
Tipple and treats
If you’re worried about your food baby showing through your silhouette hugging swimwear, opt for a light meal of Acai Bowl ($21).
Like dessert but healthier, it comes with fruity elements like organic acai berries, bananas and apricot, fresh blueberries, mango and toasted coconut.
The Hollywood Punch is served in a wooden boat for sharing.
As you sink back on your beach chair, be sure to sip up one of their new cocktails. The Hollywood Punch ($23 / $41 for double serve), served in a wooden boat for sharing, will sail you away on your best daydreams.
The concoction of Havana rum, absinthe, banana liqueur, coconut water, lemon juice and orgeat (sweet syrup made from almonds, sugar, and rose water) is refreshing yet offers a pleasant alcoholic kick.
