Gattopardo Chef Lino Sauro has started Morsi & Sorsi, serving bits and bites
You can now get Italian street food favourites right in the heart of the Telok Ayer enclave.
Serving “Morsi & Sorsi”, which translates to “sips and bites”, ranging from sandwiches to stuzzichini – Italian small plates – you are sure of an authentic Italian street food experience.
PanelleItalian Inspiration
This new endeavour was inspired by the chef’s recent trip to Italy. He came across the concept at the airport and wanted to bring the idea to bustling Singapore.
“I wanted something totally different from Gattopardo, with a casual environment but still serving food with top quality ingredients at an affordable price for an audience that is pressed for time,” says Chef Sauro.
Highlights include the Don Bocarte Anchovies ($6), served on a thin slice of toasted Frittata bread and the Fish in Carpione ($12), a sweet and sour fish fillet served in brine and onions.
For hot stuzzichini dishes, try their Panelle ($7), chick pea fritters with bread and lemon, and their Arancini ($6), Sicilian deep-fried rice balls.
Morsi & Sorsi SandwichesSmall to Large
Larger platters are also available should you be hankering for something more substantial. The Beef or Vegetarian Homemade Lasagne ($9-$12) comprises a rich combination of mozzarella and parmesan cheese with either beef or eggplant.
Also try their platters served with bread such as the Baby Mozzarrella, Parma Ham, Baby Spinach and Cherry Tomato ($23) or the Sous Vide Beef Cheek with Mash Potato ($18) for a more filling meal.
There are also sandwiches and paninis available to go.
