Where did the year go? It’s almost the end of the year and Christmas is rolling around again. Don’t make the mistake of last-minute planning this year and look through these festive menus we’ve rounded up.
It doesn’t matter even if you don’t really celebrate Christmas; eating is our national pastime. Besides, who doesn’t love to feast once in a while? Here are some great places for you to dine during this festive season.
Bar-Roque Grill
Bar-Roque Grill creates “Love on the Table”, drawing from French Chef Stephane Istel’s favourite recipes. Delights include Gammon Ham with Honey and Five-Spice ($138 for 1.5kg, $260 for 3kg) and a Prosciutto Duck ($12 for 100g) as well as Chef Stephane’s Mom’s Recipe Apple Pie ($60) for that familial touch.

Mandarin Orchard
Goodies galore await at Mandarin Orchard with treats such as the Roasted Sakura Chicken with Chestnut Stuffing, Roasted Spanish Sucking Pig, and a new array of Yule log cakes. We like the Strawberry & Cheesecake brulee Yule Log and the Grand Cru Chocolate and Passionfruit Yule log.

Charly T’s
Perfect for home dinners, Charly T’s Festive Bundle ($76.50) caters for four people and includes a whole Original Recipe Rotisserie Chicken (approximately 1.4kg), two slabs of Kansas City BBQ Pork Ribs and two a la carte sides of German Potato Salad.

Picotin Express
With its very own Christmas Set Menu ($50++) from Nov 1 to Dec 31, Christmas has certainly come early for diners at Picotin Express. Choose between an aromatic pumpkin tart, foie gras terrine with fig compote or smoked tomato soup with parmesan crostini for your starters and ham, turkey or salmon for your mains before indulging in a warm Christmas pudding, chocolate log cake or pavlova with mixed berries and fruit coulis.
A vegetarian menu is also available upon request.

Spathe Public House
Known for their mammoth proportions, Spathe Public House’s Christmas offerings do not disappoint. Available from Dec 16 to Dec 25, expect extravagant helpings (that can feed up to six people) such as the Turducken ($159), the infamous quail within a chicken within a duck within a turkey.
The Seafood Stack ($178) is chockfull of whole lobsters, oysters, sous-vide octopus and baby squid, green-lipped mussels, and prawns. These dishes require a minimum of a three-day advance order. They also have other festive dishes of suckling pig and roasting cow.

Wooloomooloo Steakhouse
Dine out in style at Wooloomooloo Steakhouse for the yuletide holiday. Celebrate over Dec 24 to 26 with their four-course set lunch ($68++) or five-course set dinner ($158++). Whet your appetite with Tuna Carpaccio with Iberico Bellota and indulge in a Traditional Christmas Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing or 150-Day Grain Fed Australian Rib Eye.
