What should one look for in a good pair of sunglasses?
Quality is a must. Designer sunglasses will have UV protective lenses – so I’d always advise investing in these.
How should you pick a frame to suit your face shape?
I find it’s best to choose a frame that’s the opposite of your face shape. So, if you have a round face, look for square frames; if you have a square jawline, opt for round. Small face shapes should avoid anything too oversized. Heart-shaped faces look great in cat-eye sunglasses.
How can you differentiate between male sunglasses and female?
Nowadays, a lot of styles are unisex. For instance, Ray Ban Wayfarers work just as well on men as they do women. Filigree details, fun shapes and more catwalk styles are designed more with women in mind.
What is the one pair of sunglasses you should own for all occasions?
Aviator shades. They are classic, trans-seasonal and they work just as well for women as they do men. Whether you opt for metal frames or dark tortoise shell, they are sure to lend a cool, relaxed and pared-back look to your outfit.
What is the biggest mistake people make?
A common mistake is when people buy trend-led styles that aren’t necessarily right for their face shape. A good pair of sunglasses should flatter you and complete your look.
Can you spot any upcoming trends for sunglasses?
The ‘60s oversized shape was key for Spring/Summer, as seen at Moschino and Jonathan Saunders. The futuristic cat eye at Erdem was notable for Autumn/Winter.
