Fresh Eats: New Restaurants To Check Out This Month

From world-renowned hotpot and pizza chains to quick-service joints and upscale dining experiences, there’s something new for every palate.

1. Niku Niku oh!! Kome

Japan’s popular rice bowl chain, Niku Niku oh!! Kome, has arrived in Singapore, making its debut at Resorts World Sentosa’s new lifestyle hub, WEAVE. This is a must-visit for anyone who loves Japanese comfort food with a theatrical flair.

The main draw is a live-grilling station where you can watch as your beef hamburg steak is freshly seared to order right in front of you. Each bowl is crafted from scratch daily, featuring handcrafted beef hamburg steak made from newly ground wet-aged ribeye and beef brisket. Sets, which include two to three hamburg steaks, start at only S$16.80++ and come with a generous offering of free-flow rice, broccoli, and soup. You can customize your hamburg with indulgent options like melted cheddar and freshly grated Grana Padano cheese, or elevate the experience with a seasonal avocado tartar.

2. The Plump Frenchman

Zouk Group has officially launched a new French brasserie in Bugis called The Plump Frenchman. The restaurant offers a fresh, quirky, and comforting twist on classic French cuisine. The menu, designed for bold flavors and hearty fare, was created by Chef Lorenz Hoja, Zouk Group’s Chief Culinary Officer and former Executive Chef at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Singapore.

The 70-seater space is designed as a go-to destination for various occasions, from business lunches to casual dinners and family meals. The concept seamlessly blends Parisian soul with the Zouk Group’s signature playful energy, aiming to redefine the dining experience in Singapore.

Half a rotisserie chicken with a side salad, housemade sriracha, and pickles costs S$17++. The priciest dish on the à la carte menu is the coq au vin, a classic French chicken stew, at S$37++. A two-course daily menu is available starting from S$25++.

3. Shuai Jiang Jun

Hotpot lovers, it’s time to turn up the heat! Chongqing’s legendary Shuai Jiang Jun has finally landed at Tiong Bahru Plaza.

With recipes dating back 40 years from Ciqikou, dive straight into their star attraction—the General’s Inferno Spicy Beef Tallow Po. Not feeling that level of spice? Instead, try the numbing General’s Clear Oil Pot or the rich, collagen-packed Pork Tripe & Chicken Broth. Meat fans, don’t miss the warrior-worthy General Axe Cut Beef and melt-in-your-mouth Snowflake Wagyu Beef—made for feasting.

And guess what? It’s not just fiery hotpot here—Ah Ge Li Nanxing is cooling things down with his limited-time dessert pop-up, Sweet Blast! Available only from 26 August to 26 October, expect indulgent treats like Durian Mousse, Mango Pomelo, Chendol with Durian, and refreshing Soursop Nata.

4. Vincenzo Capuano

Robertson Quay is now home to the first Asia outpost of Vincenzo Capuano, a world-renowned pizza chain. This restaurant is helmed by the fourth-generation master pizzaiolo Vincenzo Capuano, who has amassed over 40 accolades and is recognized as the “World Champion of Contemporary Pizza.” His secret? A long-leavened, highly hydrated dough made from specially curated “Nuvola Super” flour for an ultra-light, airy crust.

The restaurant’s signature touch is a pair of golden scissors placed at every table, which you use to cut your pizza. Don’t miss the “World Champion Pizza, Provola E Pepe,” alongside house signatures and traditional favorites. The menu also offers a satisfying selection of pastas, including the rich “Guanciale Di Manzo,” and classic Italian cocktails.

5. WeWa

If you want a quick and satisfying meal, head to WeWa at Orchard Gateway. This new quick-service concept serves up delicious and affordable Middle Eastern street food, focusing on a customizable shawarma experience.

Diners can choose from expertly marinated proteins slowly roasted to perfection on a spit, including succulent Chicken Shawarma, deeply spiced Beef Shawarma, or grilled Prawn Shawarma. For a plant-based option, their crispy homemade falafel is a highlight. You can enjoy your choice of protein in a soft pita, a fragrant rice bowl, or a protein-packed keto bowl, all packed with fresh toppings like pickled cabbage, sumac onions, and house-made sauces such as silky tahini and tangy amba.

6. The Coach Coffee Shop

Luxury fashion brand Coach is expanding its lifestyle presence in Singapore by opening The Coach Coffee Shop at Resorts World Sentosa’s new lifestyle destination, WEAVE.

Building on the success of The Coach Bar, this new cafe serves an elevated take on American classics with a twist. The menu features stacked sandwiches, like the “Fully Loaded Reuben,” indulgent desserts, and handcrafted beverages.

A standout feature is the soft-serve ice cream, which comes in nostalgic American flavors like “Peanut Butter & Jelly” and “Lemon Meringue Pie,” as well as a unique Singapore-exclusive, the Chilli Crab Soft Serve, garnished with crispy fried mantou. The curated coffee menu also includes expanded beverage options like the “Strawberry Matcha Latte” and a DIY Hot Chocolate with handcrafted Coach chocolate C’s.

7. Spicy Noodle (大師兄銷魂麵舖)

Taiwan’s cult-favorite noodle shop, Spicy Noodle (大師兄銷魂麵舖), has finally arrived in Singapore at Raffles City. The restaurant is famous for its “soul-stirring noodles” and has drawn up to two-hour queues across its 18 outlets in Taiwan.

To maintain its rigorous craftsmanship and authenticity, key ingredients like the handmade noodles and “Master Chilli Sauce” are imported directly from Taiwan. The key to the dish is the chili oil, affectionately nicknamed “the Hermès of chili oil” by regulars, which is a meticulously crafted, 8-hour-long labor of love. These chewy, handmade noodles are paired with a spicy or mild beef broth, brewed from pure beef bone simmered for at least six hours.

You can top your bowl with sliced US beef, braised tofu, or gooey soft-boiled eggs, and round out the meal with signature sides like “Spicy Braised Tofu Puff.”

8. 1-Alfaro by MONTI

For a breathtaking dining experience with unparalleled panoramic views, check out 1-Alfaro by MONTI.

Located on the 34th floor of Labrador Tower, this new rooftop lifestyle destination by the acclaimed team behind MONTI is home to two synergistic concepts: the Italian restaurant La Torre and the vibrant rooftop bar La Luna. The name “Alfaro,” which means lighthouse in Italian, embodies the warmth and celebratory spirit of Italy’s famed Emilia-Romagna region.

La Torre offers a serene dining atmosphere with floor-to-ceiling windows and a menu by Chef Felix Chong and Chef Alessandro Giustteti, featuring soulful recipes from Emilia-Romagna. As night falls, the energy shifts to La Luna, a sophisticated nightspot with a live DJ, perfect for enjoying creative cocktails and watching the sun set over the harbor.

9. Paradise Hotpot

Hotpot lovers in the West can now head to Paradise Hotpot’s new and largest outlet at VivoCity.

This fourth outlet by Paradise Group offers Singapore’s most extensive all-you-can-eat Hong Kong-style hotpot buffet. For a starting price of S$19.90++, diners can choose from over 100 fresh ingredients and nine signature soup bases, including the Authentic Pork Bone Soup Base and Century Egg with Coriander.

Beyond hotpot, the buffet also features classic Hong Kong dishes and nostalgic street food like Curry Fishballs and Stir-fried Noodles with Supreme Soy Sauce. The experience is sweetened by a self-serve dessert station featuring an ice cream machine, mini pancakes, and customizable bean curd and grass jelly.

10. Tsukimi Hamburg x Kichi Kichi Omurice

Kyoto’s legendary Chef Motokichi Yukimura — the culinary mastermind behind the viral Kichi Kichi Omurice — has officially made his Singapore debut in an exclusive collaboration with Tsukimi Hamburg. For the first time, his signature theatrical omurice is now a permanent feature across all Tsukimi Hamburg outlets islandwide.

The star of the menu, the Kichi Kichi Hamburg Omurice (S$16.80++), features fragrant demiglace fried rice with edamame and chicken, wrapped in Chef Yukimura’s iconic fluffy “tornado” omelette and topped with a juicy hamburg steak. Finished with the much-loved Kichi Kichi demiglace sauce, this creation stays faithful to the Kyoto original while adding a new layer of indulgence.

For purists, the Kichi Kichi Omurice (S$12.80++) delivers the classic experience — golden fried rice crowned with the signature tornado omelette and rich demiglace sauce.

A must-try for Japanese food lovers, this collaboration brings a taste of Kyoto’s culinary magic right to Singapore.
