Have you been following the social media trend recently? It seems that a lot of influencers are into tufting nowadays with the opening of WeTuft at Cineleisure Singapore.
First things first, what is tufting? Tufting is a technique that involves a specialized gun that shoots a needle into fabric. This technique is often used for fluffy rugs, plush, tactile patterns and etc and it is currently trending on TikTok, Instagram and other social media platforms around the globe.
The good thing about tufting is that you do not need to have any sewing experience to be able to tuft and it is not difficult at all which makes it perfect even for beginners and kids.
Last weekend, we went to WeTuft, the biggest tufting studio in Singapore, to try out our first-time tufting experience. Before starting rug tufting, look for a picture of your favourite cartoon characters, your lovely dog or any image you wish to turn into a rug. There are trainers on-site to guide you through the process from the start to the end.
I am definitely a dog person, and my overflowing love for my furkid – Lucky, my Yorkshire Terrier. Look at how I built my Lucky Rug!
If you are a vain pot, you can also choose to tuft mirror instead of a rug. After all, not everyone wants to step on their precious creation!
Take your pick from a 2 or 4-hour workshop at the biggest tufting studio in Singapore and choose from 62 different coloured cotton blended yearns from their “Great Wall of Yarn”.
Looking for a new fun family activity, new date ideas or planning for an upcoming team-bonding outing? Ring them up or drop them a WhatsApp at +65 9343 0206 to check on their rates!
