Hold on to your shopping cart, because we’ve got big news. Christian Louboutin Beauty is on its way to our sunny shores! On 20 June, the brand will have a pre-launch online at TANGS.com, before officially debuting in-stores at TANGS at Tang Plaza Level 1 from 1 July.
A quick introduction to the uninitiated: Christian Louboutin… beauty? Doesn’t the fashion designer make shoes? Yes he does, and it was in fact one of his most famous shoe designs that inspired Louboutin to branch out into makeup. Back in 1992, Louboutin created the trademark red-sole Pensée stiletto heel shoes by applying red nail polish to the soles of the shoe. This creative stroke of genius transformed not just the fashion world, but also the beauty world.
The deep and alluring red colour became the beating heart of Christian Louboutin Beauty, defining the brand’s aesthetic, vision and attitude. It’s all about being bold and playful.
Behind the French beauty house is a creative trio: apart from Christian Louboutin himself as the brand’s visionary creator and creative director, there is also emerging beauty star Isamaya Ffrench as the brand’s global makeup artist, and top model Mica Argañaraz as the global brand ambassador.
If you have ever seen a Christian Louboutin beauty product, you would probably remember it. Their packaging cases have “luxury” written all over them in dramatic fashion. The lipstick range includes the Silky Satin Lip Colour, Velvet Matte Lip Colour and Sheer Voile Lip Colour
($142 each), each line featuring many different vibrant shades, from pale pinks to nudes and browns. We recommend the brand’s signature red shade, Rouge Louboutin – yep, the same beautiful red from the stilettos – which is available in all of the lipstick lines.
The Rouge Velvet Matte Lip Colour, in particular, is a real stunner. Not just in that classic red colour, but also the sexy gold-toned vial-shaped casing, inspired by the Art Deco movement. And the threaded ring on the cap lets you even wear the lipstick as a necklace!
Christian Louboutin Beauty would not miss the chance to create a nail collection, not when it was nail polish that helped him to create the iconic red-sole shoe. The Christian Louboutin Nail Colour collection ($80 each) consists of 29 different bold, metallic and nude shades. Once again, it’s packaged in extravagant cases resembling quill and ink, fitting for the brand’s Valentine’s Day campaign.
