Recipe: Red Wine Japanese Beef Curry by Asian Food Channel

Japanese curry is a sweeter, milder take on curry, but adding some red wine helps to make this a more grown-up take on a comforting Asian classic.

Ingredients

1 box Japanese curry roux (8 cubes)
400g stewing beef cubes
250ml red wine
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
2-3 carrots
Peeled and cut into large chunks
2 yellow onions
Peeled and chopped roughly
1 tablespoon concentrated tomato paste
1 L water

Combine the beef cubes with red wine, honey and soy sauce.
Leave to marinate for at least one hour, or even overnight.
