Has it really been three and a half decades since the first Disneyland in Asia, Disneyland Tokyo opened?

The year was 1983, almost 30 years after the original “Happiest Place on Earth” opened in Anaheim, California in 1955. Not only was it then the only Disneyland in Asia, Disneyland Tokyo was the first park to be built outside the United States.

From April 2018 all the way to March 2019, Tokyo Disney Resort will celebrate its birthday with a special anniversary event “Tokyo Disney Resort 35th ‘Happiest Celebration” held at both Disneyland and DisneySea Park. Guests are in for an incomparable experience of magical fun with a slew of new attractions, activities, and programmes for the whole family!

Here are some of the exciting highlights you just can’t miss:

Kicking off the festivity is the premiere of the grand daytime parade, where Mickey Mouse and his Disney friends take guests on an adventure filled with fantasy and imagination!

The 45-minute parade consists of 13 floats and five units, including one that carries all the gorgeous Disney princes such as Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, and Rapunzel.

From animated film Big Hero 6, Baymax also makes his first appearance at the Park, flying high with human partner Hiro on his back.

The parade comes to a fitting conclusion with a graceful Mary Poppins seemingly levitating in midair, while Peter Pan and Wendy fulfill their flying fantasies with the help of a little pixie dust from Tinkerbell!
