Giving is truly better than receiving

As we revel in the festive cheer around the city, let's not forget the true spirit of Christmas - giving and sharing, and not just to our immediate family and friends, but also those in need in our community. Back for its third year, Giving Week has lots of fun festivals and activities lined up from 27 November to 5 December, to encourage Singaporeans to embrace the spirit of giving. Look out for our iconic buildings, such as the Esplanade, Singapore Flyer, The Fullerton Hotel, and The National Stadium, lighting up in red for this nation-wide movement this year! We've rounded up 5 awesome activities you and your loved ones can join to have fun while giving back.

2. Donate blood

Ng Teng Fong General Hospital will be a happening place on 30 November, 10am to 5pm, when it hosts Good Neighbour Day! You can give by donating blood to patients in need at the hospital, or by shopping at the flea market. It’s a great chance to get your Christmas gift shopping done – there will be lots of deals on pre-loved items, and new and used books on offer, too. All proceeds are going to charities and community partners in the neighbourhood.
