4 Tips To Make The Most Out Of The Singapore Cocktail Festival 2018

May is set to be a month of merriment, fizzled with a smidge of mayhem, with the return of Singapore Cocktail Festival 2018!

Happening from 4 to 13 May, the illustrious 10-day long gala will see to the likes of revered mixologists, spirit aficionados and passionate imbibers, gathering together in celebration of the complex concoction we call the cocktail.

With the inaugural ceremony of this year's Asia's 50 Best Bars awards taking place on 3 May, the festival will begin eventfully on the following day, kicking off with the Festival Village that lasts over the weekend of 4 to 6 May at the Empress Lawn. The conviviality then continues at various bars all over Singapore, where highlights include special food pairing menus and intimate bar tours for an ultimate cocktail experience.

So how does one revel with discernment at the 10-day long festival?

4. Make post-Festival Village plans

Cocktails are still flowing after the end of the Festival Village, or until 13 May at least. Participating local bars such as 28HKS, Amrith by BarSmiths, Anti:Dote, Neon Pigeon, N, Bar Stories and Tess Bar & Kitchen beckons all to their abode with promises of discounted cocktails (with the Cocktail Passport) and special food pairing menus to rein in the festivities. If you’re looking for something extra, gallivant around Singapore and visit some of the nation’s best bars when you sign up for festival’s Bar Tours. Taking place on 9 and 12 May, the tour ($98 per ticket) takes you on a spirited journey to four bars such as Monte Carlo Boys, Caffe Fernet and Smoke & Mirrors, where you’ll learn the story behind each watering hole before savouring their featured festival cocktail.
