What’s not to like about a burger that combines the spiciness of a Zinger fillet with the warm comfort of mac ‘n cheese? When we first heard the news, we were intrigued, and so were our stomachs! Thus, we put the burger to the (taste) test and here is our review.

This burger is indeed, as the famous meme goes, “an absolute unit”.

With two dense mac ‘n cheese patties sandwiching a hefty Zinger fillet and crisp turkey bacon, we were struggling to get a taste of all the ingredients in a single bite! For those who usually find mac ‘n cheese too milky for their taste, the “buns” of this burger were surprisingly devoid of that strong creamy taste. Instead, they were well-flavoured and moreish, if a tad dry.

Together with the Zinger fillet, turkey bacon, cheese sauce and lettuce, the Mac ‘N Cheese Zinger makes for a hearty and filling meal. Indeed, one of our colleagues commented approvingly that the the burger felt “very heavy” as compared to others. However, it did feel a little too rich and oily after taking one too many bites. We recommend sharing the Mac ‘N Cheese Zinger Meal (S$8.95) with a buddy if you have a small appetite! Each KFC Mac ‘N Cheese Zinger Meal comes with 1 Mac ‘N Cheese Zinger, 1 medium Whipped Potato, as well as 1 regular Pepsi.

For those who hanker for more chicken, have a healthy appetite, or are sharing between two hungry souls, do try the KFC Mac ‘N Cheese Zinger Box (S$10.95)! It includes a Mac ’N Cheese Zinger, 1 piece Chicken, 1 regular Whipped Potato, 1 regular Fries and 1 regular Pepsi.

Available at all KFC outlets islandwide, via KFC delivery, Grabfood, foodpanda and Deliveroo.
