Long-standing gourmet butchery The Butcher has finally opened its first ever restaurant concept at Suntec City, The Butcher’s Kitchen.
Aside from purveying premium meats for takeaway, the multi-concept space offers a dine-in option where guests have the liberty to choose prized cuts from its open counter before picking a preferred cooking style, including seasoning and doneness.
The cavernous appeal
To please all palates, the restaurant offers a variety of homemade artisanal pizzas, pastas, pies and a staggering 32-flavour gelato parlour. Perfect for dessert lovers, the gelatos come in unusual flavours such as the spicy Chilli Crab and boozy Guinness Beer.
As for the meats, it’s clear that adopting an eco-conscious approach has attributed to The Butcher’s unwavering success.
Based on a philosophy of honesty and transparency, the gourmet butchery chooses to only work with ethical farms that naturally raise animals free from antibiotics, hormone promoters and steroids.
By doing so, The Butcher has garnered a loyal following of like-minded customers including ourselves.
More than meats the eye
While their seafood and pizza dishes are tasty — we’re looking at you, New Zealand King Salmon($29) and Four Cheese Pizza ($25), we recommend making a beeline for the meats.
Great for sharing, the hearty Combo Sausage Platter ($18) consists of beef, lamb and pork. All three meats were juicy and succulent while packing a flavourful punch. Our favourite? The pork sausage infused with apple and sage.
For sheer indulgence, sink your teeth into the Thousand Guineas Grain-Fed Ribeye ($38), which was grilled to perfect medium doneness. Careful not to drown it with the accompanying gravy in order to savour the true flavours of this exclusive Australian Shorthorn beef.
A dish that made it in our list of must-tries is the pasture-fed Signature Lamb Rack ($35), which was flavourful to the last bite.
Cast away pre-conceived notions of bland and dry chicken breast meats when you order The Butcher’s Kitchen’s Chicken Breasts with Marinade. Well seasoned and tender, the dish is a nice alternative to the red meats.
Worth-mentioning is the iconic The Butcher’s Burger Dog ($10), which has always been a crowd favourite. Sandwiched between two slices of freshly-baked bread, a grounded meat of your choice is then slathered with this amazing blue-cheese mayonnaise, giving the burger dog a rich and creamy finish.
Overall, The Butcher’s Kitchen kept us satiated and satisfied with its delicious cuts of meats. Would we come back for more? It’s a resounding yes!
