A pop up cafe for cheese lovers and a pop bar for lovers of all things ’90s

Perfect for foodies and merry makers, here are two upcoming pop-up events to check out:

1. Gallery & Co Pop Bar

If there’s one thing to make Gallery & Co even cooler than it already is, it’s a pop-up bar inspired by 90s bubblegum pop music, irrelevant emojis and tropical cocktails.

From 1 Nov to 2 Jan, after-work drinks can be had at the breezy alfresco space, where happy hour promotions, island tapas and cocktails await.

The menu reads like a cross between a seaside shack on Hawaii island and a tiki bar, with tasty Pupu’ or Polynesian-Hawaiian tapas to whet appetites.

We found ourselves popping the Spam Musubi — a decadent update on the Hawaiian snack, now deep fried in panko. Other must-tries include the Avocado Egg Rolls, with avocado chunks wrapped in wanton skin; and the Lemongrass Ribs, which comes accompanied by the most addictive ‘kichap’ chili dip.

The cocktails, served in popsicles, tasted more sweet than anything else, although it was no doubt fun to cool off with a couple.
