Winter wonderland
The “Hobbit” Winter Dongbei itinerary will bring you to the quaint and picturesque Snow Village, a land of snow-capped wooden houses resembling stout mushrooms with their red roofs.
Be enchanted by the arresting Chang Bai Mountain Scenic Area in Jilin, where you may also catch a glimpse of the gorgeous snow willows streaking up from the ice. Another natural wonder here that’s especially beautiful in winter is the giant Heaven Lake in the crater of the active volcano of Changbai Mountain.
A whole new world
This tour may be taking you through charming China, but you may suddenly find yourself transported to an entirely different country — like Russia.
You’ll be visiting Volga Manor in Harbin, a Russian-themed hotel that sits stoically in the snow. Step in and be swept away into another culture altogether, as your surroundings are transformed by traditional Russian decor. The hotel offers a view of Saint Nicholas Church and features the rustic Pushkin Salon.
The tour will take you to a variety of key sights in major Harbin attractions, such as the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum, Changchun’s Puppet Manchurian Palace and Harbin’s Sun Island Scenic Area and Central Street.
Food trail
Along the way, every meal will be a feast of local delicacies and specialties of each region.
