If Barbie could have her own lake, this would be it. Pink Lake is a salt lake near the town of Esperance in Western Australia. It blushes a bright shade of bubblegum pink in the summer.
It’s speculated that the lake changes colour because of algae, bacteria and / or brine prawn build-up. Combined with optimum temperature and light, these elements react to produce what we see: a lake in the pink of health!
Esperance is an eight-hour drive or two-hour flight from Perth.
