3. Nakajima Park, Sapporo, Hokkaido

Can’t make travel plans so soon? There are still northern areas like Hokkaido where the cherry blossoms come into bloom in late April. Hokkaido residents love this urban park for the incredibly tranquil atmosphere and lush greens surrounding a wide river. Located just three stops away from Sapporo railway and subway station, very near the Sapporo city centre, the park offers a relaxing break from the bustling city life. Compared to the more famous and popular viewing spots in the city, there are not that many sakura trees planted, but the peaceful environment is worth it. Also, you can find different kinds of pretty blooms, from double-flowered to weeping cherry blossom varieties.
