7 Festivals In The Region For The Rest Of 2018 Worth Jetting Off To

Come for the festivities, stay for the culture

Sometimes we’re just itching to go on a holiday, but we can’t decide when or where to go. That’s when we create a global calendar and start planning a trip around festivals, big events and celebrations. Attending a festival overseas is a great way to experience the local culture and traditions up close, with the locals themselves.

And who says the most happening festivals are in Europe or the US? If you’re on a budget, Asia and Oceania are popping with lively celebrations. For every Coachella and Oktoberfest, we have a Wonderfruit and Tokyo Ramen Show to keep us grooving and salivating. So pull up your own global calendar and get ready to mark these dates down!

Where: Pattaya, Thailand

When: 13-16 December 2018

It’s not a fruit festival, but the name does capture Wonderfruit’s celebration of our wonderful natural world and culture. For four days, the boho chic festival brings us top-notch live music, unique art installations, and world-class food, all fully sustainable. No plastic is used or allowed, while the organisers also uses biodegradable tableware, cutlery and cups for the food. The social consciousness extends to the food (sustainably sourced from Thai farmers), talks and workshops too. With these eco-friendly policies, Wonderfruit shows that sustainable living is just as much a part of Thai culture as the music, art and cuisine. So you can dance the night away to great local and international musical performances, immerse yourself in the cool boho environment, and feast on the incredible Thai food, knowing that you’re also celebrating love for the Earth.
