A small island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines, Boracay is primarily known for its beaches, vibrant nightlife and rich waters for watersport enthusiasts.

Boracay’s main beach, often referred as White Beach, is divided into three parts: Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3. At Station 1's where the luxury hotels and other premium facilities are at, while Station 2 is known as the food and party hub. If you are looking for privacy, head to Station 3, the quietest part located at the southernmost corner of Boracay.

Here are ten things that make this one of the Philippines’ most popular beach destinations:

5. Get a different view on the water

Located 30 minutes away from Boracay’s Station 1, Ariel’s Point is a protected and unspoiled area along Buruanga, and is a perfect starting point for kayaking and exploring nearby deserted beaches.

You can choose from either a single kayak or a tandem kayak, and the fees include the use of life jackets.

Another water activity you can do at Ariel’s Point is stand-up paddleboarding. Even beginners are welcome here – in fact, the new boards are specifically designed for novice users.

Meanwhile, the main beach is also teeming with water activities, if you don’t want to stray too far. You can ride jetskis, go parasailing or try windsurfing.

Boats depart to Ariel’s Point from Station 1, and the area is open from 10am-5pm.
