Twitter Alerts

Imagine you are touring a country and an earthquake occurs, and you’re subscribed to one of the organisations (Red Cross, World Health Organisation, etc.) that use Twitter Alerts.

You’ll be able to receive Twitter notifications and SMSes for accurate and reliable information so as to be better informed on which places to avoid, etc.

Twitter Alerts is a new feature offered to users to provide useful and important messaging during times of crisis: emergency evacuations, natural disasters or when other forms of communications are inaccessible.

Public service agencies and non-governmental organisations already make use of Twitter to share information or make a public announcements.

Twitter Alerts can be their alternative option for them to communicate with their followers or customers during times of crisis.

For example, if a governmental organisation needs to share information about an imminent haze coming the country’s way, Twitter Alerts can help assist them and send out a notification to relevant parties.

Twitter Alerts is opening up a partners programme to enrol organisations who wish to provide critical information to the general public in times of crisis.
