Following the foot steps of fellow British fashion goddesses Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham, who are no strangers to fashion collaborations, we’re cheering on IT Girl Alexa Chung who’s finally launching her own clothing line.
Estimated to hit stores in May 2017, the eponymous label Alexachung will include denim, daywear, evening wear, shoes, jewelry, and some unnamed “special products”.
Until then, she continues to front French luxury brand Longchamp (six seasons and counting), adding to her list of past collaborations with brands like Marks & Spencers, Superga and Eyeko.
Here’s an interesting nugget fans may be interested in.
While many assume Alexa had a part to play in the creation of the iconic Mulberry Alexa bag, the truth is that she was only named after it.
In an interview she said: “The Alexa bag was just named after me. I was never part of the design process, but would love to have the ability to create something.”
Well, the cat is finally out of the bag.
Meanwhile, we’re waiting with bated breath for the launch of her own fashion apparel line. With a team of six professional designers, whose professional backgrounds varies from experience at luxury fashion houses to music and art, this collection already sounds like a mega exciting project.
Very promising and very Alexa Chung.
While the label will only be retailing at several high-end department stores in the main fashion capitals (London, Paris, New York) during its initial launch next year, we are keeping our eyes peeled for its arrival onto Singapore shores.
