1. Stop the fading
Keep your bag away from sunlight when not in use, so as to prevent its colour from fading.
2. Prevent colour transfer
Take care when storing your bags and try not to place two leather bags in close contact as the colours might rub off on each other. Additionally, you could seek a specialist’s help to apply a protective transparent layer for your leather bag.
3. No more sweat stains
Wrap a scarf around the handle to keep it free from stains and wipe down the bag handles with a clean dry cloth after each use.
4. Stay mould-free
Air your bag at least twice a month to allow any excess moisture to dry and store them in dust bags instead of plastic bags for better ventilation.
5. Keep the shape
As leather is prone to stretching, maintain the shape of your bag by fitting it with its original stuffing to keep it in shape when storing. This will also keep it from becoming overstretched.
6. Stop scratches
Keep your bag strap inside of your bag when storing it to avoid scratches from the hardware. If you find minor scratches, use a clean, dry finger to buff the scratches off — press gently and rub in a circular motion.
7. Tarnish no more
Avoid touching your bag’s hardware after applying moisturising products on your skin as oils and creams may accelerate tarnishing. To polish tarnished hardware, use a jewellery cloth, which you can request for from your luxury sales advisor.
