Pursue a Master of Arts in Leadership and Educational Change, an innovative joint-degree offered by NIE, NTU and teacher’s college, Columbia university
What is education for and why and how should change take place?
The “Master of Arts in Leadership and Educational Change” programme is innovative in design and generative of the critical discourse that is required for leading educational change – dialogue and deliberation about traditions and beliefs in education, how education is experienced as contemporary discourse and new ideas and alternatives for the future.
Ms Reshu Aryal Dhungana, Director of Program and Communications at Ullens Education Foundation, Nepal, highly recommends the “Master of Arts in Leadership and Educational Change” programme to aspiring educational leaders and educators interested in understanding what education is for and how they might create purposeful and meaningful learning experiences for children.
Transforming Education
The Ullens Education Foundation is a seven-year-old non-profit institution registered with Nepal’s Ministry of Education. Since 2013, Ms Reshu has been part on the inaugural learning community of 16 school leaders and senior educators in the “Master of Arts in Leadership and Education Change (MA (LEC))” programme.
Through engagement with senior professors from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, and Teacher’s College, Columbia University, the programme has challenged her to connect with global phenomena and understand implications for diverse educational contexts.
Leading change
The MA (LEC) has a dual focus on organisational and curriculum leadership and provides opportunities to build new cross-national learning communities and fraternities, steeped in both local and global perspectives.
Ms Reshu says the MA(LEC) programme has given her a new found sense of agency and conviction to create opportunities for children to engage more meaningfully in life and learning. Bring new vision into leadership and lead educational change.
The programme will take in its third cohort in January 2015. Interested applicants can apply from Apr 17 to Jun 30, 2014.
