A New Home for Bo Bo and Cha Cha

#33 Family & Friends A New Home for Bo Bo and Cha Cha

With the panda craze that’s hit Singapore, this might be the right book for little ones

Adorable pandas Bo Bo and Cha Cha have arrived at the Singapore Zoo. Bo Bo is excited, with all the colours and the cacophony of sounds from the various animals in Mandai. Bo Bo and Cha Cha meet many interesting new friends there, including Kera the friendly orang-utan, who enthusiastically offers to give them a guided tour.

They quickly meet other animals that they had never seen before, including Mr and Mrs Tapir. Bo Bo is in awe of the whole new experience and the new friends they are making. Cha Cha is less than thrilled. In fact, she is quite apprehensive about this new environment and strange new neighbours, including those with orange hair.Everything here seems too strange: the animals, the heat, and even the food. Cha Cha wants to leave. That is, until a caring sloth shows her what being home really means.

While tying in with the recent arrival of the pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia from China to the Singapore Zoo, this book is a delight on its own. The illustration is bright, colourful and cute, and makes it highly child-friendly.The story also has meaningful insights for kids, on new experiences, new environments, and even new friends.

On the whole, the book is a fairly delightful read. Get this book to entertain your kids with a local bedtime story.
