Remembering one of Singapore's oldest public housing estates

Drawn by the call of nostalgia and longing, we took a trip down to the east to say goodbye to sweet old Dakota Crescent, before it closes at the end of the year.
We took what may possibly be the oldest operating lift in Singapore. In that creaking and groaning metal box that crept up to only levels one, three and six, I wondered how different the residents’ lives would be in their new homes.
Will it be easier? Will they see each other again?
