Marsiling war tunnels

Marsiling is home to a network of underground tunnels used during WWII. Running between Admiralty Road West and Marsiling Crescent, these tunnels were originally part of a Royal Air Force fuel reserve depot built in 1942.

During the Occupation, the tunnels were modified by the Japanese forces to their present form. The depot reportedly could store enough fuel for a fleet of 4,000 Japanese fighter planes. You can view NHB’s documentary of the Marsiling Tunnels on roots.sg.
