Kick-Ass 2: More butt-kicking heroics

Hit Girl and Kick-Ass are all grown up but still are as “kick ass” as ever

Vigilante superheroes Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and the villainous Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s worldwide hit Kick-Ass.

Alive and Kickin’

Kick-Ass’ (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) bravery in the last film inspired a new wave of self-made masked crusaders. Lead by Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), Kick-Ass joins them on patrol.

When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by old nemesis Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) – who has been re-christened with a name that we can’t print – only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.

We last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and Kick-Ass trying to live as normal teenagers, Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and with Dave facing a quarter-life crisis, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy.

However, Mindy is caught sneaking out as Hit Girl and is forced to retire. Dave then joins forces with Justice Forever with born-again ex-mobster Colonel Stars and Stripes.

With Every Action…

With every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction from the super villain formerly known as the Red Mist. He assembles his own evil league and puts a plan into motion to make the duo pay for taking down his father.

He neglects to factor in one thing in his quest for revenge: loyalty. You mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.
