From now to Nov 11, four bus stops in Singapore will have dispensers providing items like cough drops and mosquito patches.

Say what you may, but there’s an odd satisfaction about twisting a capsule dispenser’s knob and receiving a prize like a toy or key chain.

Now, thanks to certain bus stop ads that have been converted into these dispensing machines, you can receive something that’s actually useful: free health kits.

As part of a global marketing campaign to promote general health, insurance giant AXA has transformed four bus stops’ ads into mega-sized capsule dispensers.

With the push of a button, the dispensers will release free health kits containing useful items that can prevent common ailments.

From now to Nov 11, you can get these med-kit goodies from the dispensers:

  • Band aids – to prevent infection in cuts
  • Mosquito patches – to ward off dengue fever
  • Medicated oil – for headaches and pain relief
  • Cough drops – soothe sore throats, especially in our hazy situation

The four different capsule items will be rotated on a weekly basis, so keep coming back every week for your weekly dose of health!

The dispensers are located at these bus stops:

  • Bugis Street – opposite Bugis Junction
  • Dhoby Ghaut – at Plaza Singapura
  • Marine Parade – beside Parkway Parade
  • Church Street – beside OCBC Centre

In addition to this campaign, titled Born to Protect, AXA will also launch a series of activities for the public, including the AXA Safer City Contest.

To take part, simply submit ideas on how Singapore can be made a safer city, and the best suggestions will be selected and turned into reality. The AXA Safer City Contest will run until Nov 13, and the first 100 ideas submitted will be rewarded with a $30 shopping voucher.
