3. Criminals take part in a gladiator-style survival reality show

According to the 1987 film The Running Man, American society would this year have become a totalitarian police state that censors all cultural activity. The only culture that exists is a government-broadcast game show, “The Running Man”, in which convicted criminals attempt to evade armed mercenaries within a large arena.

A combination between “Survivor” and Korean variety show “Running Man”? It’s 2017, why are we not seeing this? (Sans all the blood and death, of course.)
