2. Participate in SMU Arts Festival
Happening from 8 to 17 September, over 20 student clubs from SMU’s Arts & Cultural Fraternity have banded together to hold the annual SMU Arts Festival. The extravaganza will take place across multiple venues in the Bras Basah Bugis district, where a range of activities such as music, dance, theatre performances, visual arts showcases, and immersive workshops awaits.
Some exciting highlights include Six.5 Urban Dance Company’s site-specific dance performance that incorporates trampolines, sand and water to illustrate the nature’s elements, and the explosive sounds of SMU Samba Masala’s PA(PERcussion), where the roving band turns everyday objects into percussion instruments. Not to be missed is also the compelling photography exhibition called Sunset Trades: The Last Chapter that revolves around the disappearing trades in Singapore.
Need to refuel in the midst of the festivities? Look to a fine line-up of gourmet vendors to get your munchies sorted whilst browsing through hand-crafted merchandises or at the festival’s first ever artisan market, STORiES.
