4. Check out two new exhibitions at the Singapore Philatelic Museum

Do you remember the last time you sent out a physical mail instead of an email? We don’t think so! Apart from stamps of unique designs (and even materials), did you know that there are also specially handcrafted envelopes? Singapore Philatelic Museum’s two new exhibitions Seeing Is Believing! Unusual Stamps and Art on Envelope: Send Your Love the Write Way will let you see just how the medium conveys just as the message within.

Beside the many elaborately-adorned envelopes on display, some philatelic highlights include the world’s first beaded stamp – from Singapore nonetheless! – inspired by Peranakan culture; a set of Belgian stamps that smell and taste like delicious chocolate; unique 3D Star Wars stamp; and a quirky shaped stamp in a pair of Alpine lederhosen, made of alcantara leather and decorated with Swarovski- crystals.

Both exhibitions open 11 April, and run till the end of the year.
